Cassian Schmidt

New Perspectives in Design and Maintenance of Habitat-Based Perennial Plantings

CASSIAN SCHMIDT received a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture at Munich Technical University in Weihenstephan, Germany and a master’s degree from Ahlem Horticultural College in Hannover. In 1998 he became the director of Hermannshof Garden. Since 2003, Cassian has been the chairman of the Working Committee for Planting Design of the German Perennial Plant Association and a professor for planting design at the Department of Landscape Architecture at Geisenheim University since 2010. He has over 25 years of experience as a professional horticulturist (including an internship at Kurt Bluemel Inc. perennial nursery) and is noted for his work at the famous Countess von Zeppelin Perennial Plant Nursery.
